Wordplay

Have you noticed that the words "meditation" and "medication" differ only by a single letter?

Hmmm?

  1. No, but I do recall it was while taking Percodan for a broken leg when I realized "The Gay Divorcee" is hands-down the funniest movie ever made. Need a copy?

  2. And apparently both words are derived from the same root in Proto Indo European *med- (to consider, to advise). Also gives us cognates like Welsh "meddwl" to think and Gothic "miton" to measure plus "to mete". Now if only I could get the -tation vs. -cation distinction. Anyway, I'm glad to see you are coming up with word play ideas during these trying times. My thoughts are with you, and at the risk of a bit of jollity, could I add that if any couple go endure these trials with grace, you "toucan." Of course, that bit of punsterdom was probably what you had in mind when you named your partnership to begin with, so I'm really just adapting. All the best, and I'll be following your news. - Roz
